Banks and ATMs
Cambodian banks offer a wide range of services for travelers, including currency from your own country to Cambodian Riel (KHR) and travelers check exchange, credit card advances, telegraphic transfers and all regular banking services. Most Banks are typically open from from 8:00 AM to 3:00 or 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with some opening on Saturday mornings until 11:30 AM.
ATMs are widely available throughout Cambodia, even in smaller towns and tourist areas. It is active 24/7 and accept all credit card. You can easily find them in City centers, tourist area, near banks and shopping malls. Most ATMs dispense both US dollars and Cambodian riel. You can usually choose your preferred currency when making a withdrawal. At the time of printing, the average rate of exchange is 4,100KHR to 1USD. Be aware that some ATMs may charge a withdrawal fee, usually around $5 per transaction. Additionally, your home bank may also charge a foreign transaction fee.
CREDIT CARDS
Credit cards are rapidly becoming popular in Cambodia, providing locals and visitors with a convenient method of payment. Within the country, Visa and Mastercard are two of the most commonly accepted credit cards. Few places accept AMEX and even fewer Diners Club. Remember, however, not all businesses accept credit cards and some may charge you fees for using them. For the local markets, smaller shops and transportation the common mode of payment is still cash.

KHQR (short for Khmer Quick Response) is a standardized QR code system that allows you to make payments using your smartphone and user can do payment with different mobile payment App seen as a interoperability system between various Financial scheme, E-wallet and Bank. It’s incredibly convenient, secure, and widely accepted throughout Cambodia.
