SUMMARY:The 29th Angkor Wat International Half Marathon
DESCRIPTION:From the beginning\, this internationally recognized half marathon raised relief for the victims of antipersonnel mines in Cambodia. With the support of many Japanese running enthusiasts\, the Angkor Wat International Half Marathon NGO started the race in 1996\, with participants from all over the world. Attended by many landmine victims\, this great international race takes place inside the ruins of Angkor Wat\, the World Heritage Site\, and has been held annually to give the victims encouragement and hope as well as appealing to the world for support the “ban on the use of anti-personnel mines.” \nEvent Purpose:\n\nRunners from all over the world participate to support a ban on the manufacture and inhumane use of anti-personnel mines. Entry fees and additional financial support foster independence among landmine victims by helping provide prosthetic limbs\, social reintegration programs\, and supporting other relevant and needed programs such as education and prevention of any serious new diseases in Cambodia . Another important part of charity also goes to the support Poor Children in hospitals such as Angkor Children Hospital and Kantha Bopha Children Hospital. \nThanks to international supports from around the world\, both healthy and disabled people are inspired and encouraged by the competition\, greatly benefiting many communities in need throughout Cambodia.

DESCRIPTION:The Khmer Empire- known as ancient Cambodia was the most powerful Empire in Southeast Asia.\nThe Angkor as the central area of settlement of the Kingdom of Khmer from the 9th to the 13th centuries. Which was the symbol of the ancient civilization of Khmer people and also revealed as the largest pre-industrial urban center in the world. \nThe Angkor Empire Marathon will offer an exceptional opportunity for all runners around the world to experience the ancient course in the area of World heritage through nearly 40 ancient temples along the pretty smooth road race which almost cut through the national forest and rice field of villagers . \nThe 8th Angkor Empire Marathon has happened on 06 August 2023 with more than 3\,000 runners from 45 countries\, the 9th Angkor Empire Marathon will be hold on 04 August 2024 in the ancient city of Angkor Empire State of the last 11th century with expected over 4\,000 runners. the runners of this race have got the unique experience with the ancient atmosphere and natural scenery along the road race through forest rice fields \, traditional villages and ancients temples in the heart of Angkor Era. \nThe Cambodian Events Organizer team with national and international organizations would like to invite all professional and amateur runners around the world come to participate this exceptional marathon event to show the ultimate friendship and kind support to disabled people and poor children in Cambodia. \nWe are waiting for offering you all the most warmly welcome and the best arrangement for your beautiful race in the area of ancient Khmer Civilization.\nBest wishes to all lovely runners!\nOrganizing committee.
